Description

The Children’s Grief Foundation of Canada (CGFC) is accepting applications for its Grant Program to provide funding to help develop and expand programs in Canada that support grieving children and their families. Also, the CGFC aims to support research and innovation in children’s bereavement.

ELIGIBILITY:

A not-for-profit registered charity in Canada or affiliation with a not-for-profit registered charity in Canada.

APPLICATION REVIEW PROCESS:

The Children’s Grief Foundation of Canada will review all applications submitted by the deadline.

All project proposals will be evaluated with consideration towards the following criteria:

• The proposed project meets all guidelines for the grant.

• The proposed project will have an important impact on the children’s bereavement sector.

• The applicant has a budget that is realistic for the work plan.

• The applicant outlines the mechanism and the timeline for project evaluation.

• The proposed project will consider issues around inclusion and accessibility for participants.

• The proposed project has the potential for sustainability.

EVALUATION OF APPLICATIONS:

The Children’s Grief Foundation of Canada will evaluate each application to assess the degree that meets the requirements and goals of CGGC. The submission will be reviewed to determine how well the proposed project outlines a feasible plan to achieve and measure their outcomes. Successful applicants will enter a funding agreement with CGFC that includes details specific to their project.

ELIGIBLE AND INELIGBLE EXPENSES:

The Children’s Grief Foundation of Canada Grant can provide funding for up to a maximum of two-years per project.

 

Funding may be used for:

• Salaries and benefits for staff involved in the project planning, execution and/or evaluation;

• Resources and materials e.g. marketing and promotion, training, rent, professional service fees;

• Administration costs (not to exceed 15% of total eligible project expenses);

 

Funding cannot be used for:

• Budget deficits;

• Religious and/or political activities;

• Capital, start-up or ongoing operation costs, expenses, furniture, computers;

• Projects outside of Canada;

• Salaries for non-project related staff;

• Activities that may result in an infringement of rights protected under the Ontario Human Rights Code and all applicable laws;

• Membership fees or fundraising activities;

• Harmonized Sales Tax (HST);

SUBMISSION:

The application deadline for the CGFC Spring 2021 Grant is March 31st, 2021 at 5PM EST.

All submissions must be emailed to info@childrensgrieffoundation.org, with the subject heading: CGFC Spring 2021 Application Submission.

The submission should consist of the CGFC Spring 2021 Application, Budget, and Timeline.
