Description

The Equal Rights Trust is pleased to launch nine new Impact Assessment mini-grants, available to individual equality defenders in Armenia, Bolivia, Cabo Verde, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Pakistan, Paraguay and the Philippines. The grants will support equality defenders to undertake an assessment of the implementation of non-discrimination obligations in their country as part of our efforts to evaluate and learn from our work supporting civil society in these countries since 2017.

We aim to award one grant in each of the target countries, each consisting of:

  • The opportunity to undertake a structured, supervised assessment of the implementation of equality and non-discrimination obligations in your country with the support of the Equal Rights Trust team;
  • A cash grant of €500.

We are grateful to the European Commission for providing the funding to support these grants.

Entry Requirements

As part of our work to support equality defenders, we have created a comprehensive, online training programme on the rights to equality and non-discrimination, available in nine countries and eight languages, including English, Russian and Spanish.

To be considered for the grant, participants should complete the Equal Rights Trust online training course by Monday 15th February 2021, including the post-training assessment. The participant with the highest score on the course in each country will be given the opportunity to undertake the assessment of their country and receive the associated grant.

To enrol on the online training course in your country and for the opportunity to receive the grant, please email: ellie.mcdonald@equalrightstrust.org by 17:00 on Monday 8th February 2021.

Eligibility

Participants must be resident in one of nine countries: Armenia, Bolivia, Cape Verde, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Pakistan, Paraguay, and the Philippines. There is one grant available for participants in each of the nine eligible countries.

All activities associated with the grant will take place remotely.

Existing staff, consultants and fellows of the Equal Rights Trust are not eligible for this grant.

Recipients will be responsible for any tax, national insurance or similar liability or contribution arising from receipt of the grant in their jurisdiction.

Online Training on Equality Law

We are committed to supporting equality defenders in countries outside of the nine countries which are eligible for this grant scheme. If you are working to advance equality through the law in countries outside of the nine countries listed above and would like to access our online training course, please email us at: ellie.mcdonald@equalrightstrust.org.

The online training course is available in nine languages, including English, Spanish, Russian, Portuguese, and Urdu.
